Description
The World's Columbian Exposition reconstruction goes beyond static 3D reconstructions to generate a modeled site that allows a user to "explore" a digital environment in an interactive, embodied way. The exposition files were first generated as early as 1997 under the auspices of the UCLA Urban Simulation Team, and were part of an experiment into how visual simulation could be used as a tool for experiential research and interpretation as well as pedagogy.
The public artifacts of the project include static images and videos taken during a "flight" through the simulation.
